COVID-19 Vaccination Registration

To register online, visit Lewis & Clark County Public Health’s COVID-19 HUB.
Rocky Mountain Development Council Area IV Agency on Aging has volunteered to provide assistance with online registration for older persons who do not have internet access. PLEASE DO NOT CALL if you or someone you know is able to register online. The call center will operate beginning Friday, January 22nd from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The number to call is (406) 447-1680.

Wind Storm Debris Collection

City of East Helena Public Works will be assisting in the pickup of wind storm debris. Branches that are 4ft in length or less and smaller than 4 inches in diameter can be piled in the location that your trash is normally picked-up. Larger branches or trees that have fallen on private property will need to be deposed of by the homeowner and taken to Tri-County Landfill across from Kleffner Ranch on Route 518. For those City of East Helena residents that have not signed up with Tri-County Disposal, please fill out and submit the form available here. A GIS map with Tri-County Disposal’s location is available here. The form is available at City Hall to complete and submit, any questions regarding the form can be directed to the Administration Department at 227-5321.

EH Public Works Christmas Tree Pickup or Support Scouts with their Recycle Program

The City of East Helena Public Works will be picking up residents’ Christmas trees on Tuesdays during the month of January. Please leave your tree(s) safely near your garbage container pickup area. Trees should be free of decorations and ornaments. If you have any questions or if you are leaving your Christmas tree(s) in another area for pick-up please call Public Works Director Kevin Ore at (406) 459-3769.

Alternatively, residents can signup to have your tree picked-up and recycled to support the Scouts. Troop 214 are picking up trees to raise money to help pay for summer camps, equipment, and other activities. City of East Helena Proclamation – Proclaiming Wednesday, December 23, 2020 as Charlie Pride Day

The East Helena Mayor and City Council have officially proclaimed Wednesday, December 23, 2020 as Charley Pride day with a proclamation adopted on Monday evening.

Charley Pride brought an immense amount of joy to this community and others around Montana and the nation. He will always be remembered for his baseball skills, singing talent, and for all of the wonderful memories still being shared.

City Hall Holiday Hours: Open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec 24th & Dec 31st

City Hall hours are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., however due to the Holidays will be closed from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 24th and all day Christmas day Friday, December 25th. Additionally, City Hall will be closed from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 31st and New Years day Friday, January 1, 2021. Garbage service will take place as usual on Thursday, December 24th and Thursday December 31st. Have a safe and happy Holiday Season. Please call 406-227-5321 with any questions.

Weekly COVID-19 Community Briefing Webinar Call Fridays 8:30AM

Lewis & Clark County (LCC) Public Health holds a weekly public community briefing webinar via Zoom. This briefing allows the public an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of COVID-19 subjects including current numbers, testing, and vaccine information. Additionally, participants can ask questions via the chat function and get up-to-date information on COVID-19 within the community. The public webinar takes place Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Trust Group LLC (METG), Trustee of the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust, are hosting a virtual Public Meeting to update the community on cleanup and redevelopment activities at the former ASARCO East Helena Smelter Facility.

Due to COVID-19 guidance, the meeting will be held virtually on Zoom and by phone.

East Valley Bus Services Temporarily Suspended

East Valley/East Helena bus services will be temporarily suspended beginning on Monday, Dec. 7 until further notice, due to COVID-19 impacts on staff levels. 

Transit employees would like to thank the public for their patience. Services will resume when the City has adequate staff for operation of the East Valley/East Helena bus route.

More information will be announced as it becomes available.

Business License Renewals Due January 1st

Renewing or obtaining a business license in East Helena

Business licenses are required for existing businesses, new businesses, and contractors working within the city limits. Licenses expire on January 1st of every year. New business licenses and renewals are $15.00, transient licenses (one-day) are available for $6.00. To obtain or renew your business license please download the Business License Application form and mail it with your payment or visit City Hall during business hours.
