The East Helena city council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7PM at City Hall, 306 E. Main Street. City residents and community members are encouraged to attend council meeting. All city council meeting agendas and approved minutes are posted below. Meeting agendas are posted at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.

The City of East Helena, Montana, is a commission-executive form of local government established under the laws of Lewis & Clark County, and the State of Montana, in 1927. Established as a commission-executive form of local government (which may be called the council-executive, the council-mayor, or the commission-mayor form), the original number of four elected councilmembers (once officially called alderman) and one elected mayor serving four year terms each is still in practice today. Two wards separate the city with Riggs Street the current dividing line between Ward 1 to the south and ward 2 to the north.
