EPA & METG East Helena Smelter Site Virtual Public Meeting 12/8/21 7PM

EPA and METG Public Notice for December 8th, 2021 Public Meeting.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Trust Group (METG), Trustee of the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust, are sponsoring a Public Meeting on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. MT. Representatives from EPA and METG will review cleanup and redevelopment progress and plans at the former ASARCO Smelter Site in East Helena. The meeting will provide the public with an important opportunity to receive information and ask questions about improvements in groundwater quality, water infrastructure projects, remediation and restoration of areas along Prickly Pear Creek, the East Helena slag removal project, and property development activities.

COVID-19 Vaccination Registration

To register online, visit Lewis & Clark County Public Health’s COVID-19 HUB.
Rocky Mountain Development Council Area IV Agency on Aging has volunteered to provide assistance with online registration for older persons who do not have internet access. PLEASE DO NOT CALL if you or someone you know is able to register online. The call center will operate beginning Friday, January 22nd from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The number to call is (406) 447-1680.

Weekly COVID-19 Community Briefing Webinar Call Fridays 8:30AM

Lewis & Clark County (LCC) Public Health holds a weekly public community briefing webinar via Zoom. This briefing allows the public an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of COVID-19 subjects including current numbers, testing, and vaccine information. Additionally, participants can ask questions via the chat function and get up-to-date information on COVID-19 within the community. The public webinar takes place Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m.

2021 Dog License Renewals Due

Renewing or obtaining a dog license in East Helena

January 1, 2021 brings about the need to renew dog tags. Dog tags are required for new dogs and dogs over six months old located within the City limits and proof of rabies vaccination is required for issuance of a dog license. Cost of the tags are $3.00 each for spayed/neutered dogs and $10.00 each for those that are not. Please visit City Hall with your pet’s proof of rabies vaccination to obtain or renew your dog tags or call 227-5321 for more information.
