East Helena Valley Rodeo Parade

For over fifty years, the annual East Helena Valley Rodeo Parade has taken place on Main Street in East Helena. In conjunction with the East Helena Valley Rodeo, this event draws contestants from all over the Helena Valley and beyond. The rodeo starts at the VFW at 1PM sharp with the precession lining up along Main Street and 1st Street. The parade then proceeds east on Main Street past the judges table at Main Street Park through to Grand Avenue where they return west on Riggs Street. Originally sponsored by the VFW Cory-Dullum Post 10010, local volunteers now organize the parade for the community. A gigantic debt of gratitude and hefty THANK YOU goes out to all of the volunteers over the years. This year, once again, Kasey and Tabatha Reisbeck, owners of Stacks Clothing here in East Helena, put an enormous amount of work into organizing the parade from start to finish. Thank you to the Reisbeck family and everyone else for organizing this wonderful East Helena event!

City of East Helena 2021 Growth Policy Update – Approved

2021 Growth Policy front cover.

The City of East Helena first adopted a growth policy in 2009 and updated it in 2014. In 2020 and early 2021 the East Helena Planning Board, the public, and important stakeholders, with the financial assistance of a Montana Department of Commerce CDBG grant, went through the public process and updated the 2014 Growth Policy. On May 4, 2021, The East Helena City Council held a public hearing and passed a resolution approving the 2021 Update to the East Helena Growth Policy.

Many thanks goes out to the East Helena Planning Board for their efforts to complete the updated Growth Policy as well as the public participants who gave their input and those that took the 2020 public survey.

Additionally, thank you to the Montana Department of Commerce and their CDBG program for the financial assistance.
