Spring Cleanup May 9th – 13th

City of East Helena residents, please leave your items for pickup in the alley or on the street where your garbage container is normally picked up. Allowed items include yard waste, lumber, scrap metal, and unwanted household items.  Leaves and grass must be bagged.  Debris piles need to be stacked with metal and lumber separated. No commercial business waste will be accepted. Disposal fees: Refrigerators/freezers $20.00/each; tires (without rims) $5.00 /each. Please call Public Works Director Kevin Ore with any questions at (406) 459-3769. Liquids and hazardous material, wet paint, and normal daily household garbage are not allowed. Landlords, please pass this information on to your renters.  Thanks!

East Helena Trail and Park Meetings & Survey Wednesday, January 19th 6:00pm-7:00pm and Thursday, January 20th 12:00pm-1:00pm

To share progress on the East Helena park development North West of Kennedy Park off Prickly Pear Creek and to receive community feedback on desired park features. PPLT is excited to be a part of the East Helena community with this new park development. East Helena residents, what do you want your new park to look like? Benches? Shade? Gardens? We want to know! City Offices Closed January 17th

City of East Helena administrative offices will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Residents who normally have trash collected on Mondays should put out their garbage cans by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18th.

Christmas Tree Pickup

The City of East Helena Public Works Department will be picking up Christmas trees every Tuesday for the month of January.  Please place your tree streetside in the right-of-way.  For additional information please contact Public Works Director Kevin Ore (406) 459-3769.

City Office Holiday Closure Dec 24th & Dec 31st

City of East Helena administrative offices will be closed Friday, December 24th for Christmas and Friday, December 31st for New Years.

EPA & METG East Helena Smelter Site Virtual Public Meeting 12/8/21 7PM

EPA and METG Public Notice for December 8th, 2021 Public Meeting.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Montana Environmental Trust Group (METG), Trustee of the Montana Environmental Custodial Trust, are sponsoring a Public Meeting on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. MT. Representatives from EPA and METG will review cleanup and redevelopment progress and plans at the former ASARCO Smelter Site in East Helena. The meeting will provide the public with an important opportunity to receive information and ask questions about improvements in groundwater quality, water infrastructure projects, remediation and restoration of areas along Prickly Pear Creek, the East Helena slag removal project, and property development activities.

East Helena Yard Clipping Site Closed For Winter

The City of East Helena yard clipping site, located off of Plant Road, is closed for the season starting on December 1st.  This site will reopen in Spring of 2022.

Please note we will only be accepting yard/grass clipping next year.  Brush and tree limbs will need to be hauled to Valley View Land fill across from Kleffner Ranch.  If you need access during winter months, or have any questions, please contact Public Works Director Kevin Ore at 406-459-3769.
